First ascent on the north-eastern wall of Rysy, Tatras
With the arrival of winter within 3 days (December 20 - 22, 2013) "alpine wolf" Pavel "Bača" Vrtík and "drytool princess" Martina Kratochvílová managed to climb the first ascent of the north-eastern wall of Rysy mountain in High Tatras, Slovakia (450 m, 20 hrs of climbing). The upper part of the line leads over a huge white overhang so the route was called "Bílý rys" (white lynx). 13 pitches of max. climbing difficulty M6/A2 is finished by 300 m ridge ascent to the summit.
Thanks to two bivouacs, short days and long approach from Poprad tarn the route got an alpine character. The line of the ascent leads left of Direttissima Kulhavý/Sulovský/Hendrych and in the upper part overcomes the biggest overhang.
We congratulate Bača and Martina and we are pleased that SINGNG ROCK equipment helped them to achieve their great goal.
