Martin Stráník, Memento 8B+
Martin Stráník after European Championship in Bouldering in Eidhoven went to the Austrian Alps - to Silvretta where he managed to send legendary boulder Memento 8B+.
Silvretta with the altitude of around 2,000 m, offers decent bouldering and suitable temperature conditions. Bouldering features mainly small and sharp edges on various overhangs. That's something which fits Martin well. You don't climb on every piece of rock you see but you pick up just the best ones.
Martin Stráník, Memento 8B+
During 5 climbing days Martin managed to climb 9 boulders of 8A or above. Martin Strání said: "My greatest success was legendary Memento (8B+). It is a boulder once considered the most difficult in the world, with class estimated to unreal 8C+. Memento was my kind of a rock: Campus, sharp edges, an overhang table and a final jump. A really nice ascent" Martin also sent a Memento variant - More Shining (8B/+), Skiroute Project (8B), Ronbug (8A+), Schattekrieger (8A), Pretty Belinda (8A), X-Ray (8A), Sunshine Raggae (8A), Niviuk (8A), British Airways (SD 7C+), Zwiederwurzn (7C+), Baby Lama (7C).
Congratulations to Martin and we look forward for next great achievements.
